IMA delegation met with Hon’ble President of India on 2nd July 2013 on the occasion of Doctor’s Day

A delegation of Indian Medical Association (IMA) met His Excellency the President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee on 2nd July 2013 at Rastrapati Bhawan on the occasion of Doctor’s day.

The delegation apprised the  Hon’ble President of the challenges faced by the medical professionals, namely  violence against doctors & medical establishments, issues related to MCI, Clinical Establishment Act and Consumer Project Act (CPA).
 
 The delegation also presented a “White Paper on Healthcare Reform & Investment, 2013”  which requests the Central and State Governments for a more proactive approach on expanding healthcare from the present 0.9 % of the GDP to 4%, thereby leading towards a healthier nation.

A poster pledging IMA’s promise to provide affordable, accessible and quality healthcare with sincerity, integrity and honesty was also released by the Hon’ble President on this occasion. He appreciated IMA’s role over the years, especially during the Disaster and urged IMA to proactively work with all sections of the society.
