An Aspirin a Day Keeps Cancer Away
A recent pooled analysis of 8 randomized studies published in The Lancet this year used the power of meta-analysis to examine the efficacy of long-term aspirin use in the reduction of cancer-related mortality. It reported a dramatic 34% reduction in overall cancer mortality after 5 years. The effects were similar and independent of dose, sex, and smoking.
