Situation: An asymptomatic sickle cell-positive patient with gallstones developed complications after gallbladder surgery.
Reaction: Oh my God!! Why was the gallbladder removed?
Lesson: Make sure that prophylactic gallbladder removal is not done in asymptomatic patients with sickle cell disease.
