MTNL Perfect Health Mela is being organized by Heart Care
Foundation of India from 23 to 27th October, 2013 at
Constitution Club of India and will have special facilities for people from NCR
and Noida.
Following health messages
were released:
1. Smoking is a disease and needs treatment under medical guidance.
2. Obesity is a disease and cannot be self-treated.
3. Any weight gain of more than 5 kg after the age of 18 in women and 20 in men is overweight or obesity.
4. Vegetables grown as creepers are natural diuretics. They can increase urine formation and secretion.
5. Any vegetable food item which is bitter and green reduces weight and lowers blood sugar.
6. The combination of white rice, white meda and white sugar are harmful to the body.
7. Dark chocolate, black coffee and black tea is good for health provided that milk and sugar are not added in them.
8. Any eatables which has ore than 10% of sugar is harmful to the body and should be taken in limited quantity.
9. If God wanted us to eat mangoes in winter, he would not have grown mangoes in summer.
10. If God wanted us to consume coconut everyday in non-costal areas, he would have grown them in costal areas.
11. Eat fresh fruits and vegetables.
12. . Never ignore early morning chest pain as heart attacks are more common in morning time.
13. Remember a person can be revived within ten minutes of death
Addressing the
press conference Padma Shri and Dr. B.C. Roy National Awardee, Dr KK
Aggarwal, President Heart Care Foundation of India said that the Mela will be a
perfect health picnic spot for public at large as public can get aware on all
aspects of health, get their health check-up done, participate in competitions
and simultaneously entertain themselves through various infotainment
modules.
The
Mela is being organized by the Heart Care Foundation of India in association
with various Departments of Central Government and the Government of NCT of
Delhi, LIC, Central Bank of India ,
Coca Cola, various hospitals, NGOs and PSUs.
There will be a
round the clock workshops on various subject which include disaster management,
family health, women health, communication skills, leadership qualities,
etc. There will also be special educational programmes on how to cook
healthy food, how to find adulteration of food at home, decoding the myths
behind magic and miracles, safe sanitation and all about prevention of
lifestyle disorder.
Co-addressing
the press conference Mr. Sandeep Marwaha, CMD, Marwaha Studio said that
individuals with higher levels of recreational physical activity carry a lower
risk of developing high blood pressure over the long term. Mr. Marwaha
said that people from all sections of the society should walk, walk and
walk. He further added that walking should not be just for the purpose of
walking but it should be in the form of recreational exercise.
