Spiritual Prescriptions: Synchronicity or Meaningful Coincidences

We all have experienced coincidences that hold some special meaning or significance, and appear to defy the laws of probability. We tend to ignore them as something amusing or insignificant. If you bump into someone you haven’t met for a long time, then it is advisable to stop and talk to him or her. Remain aware of a message from the universe that they might be carrying for you. Follow the coincidence through, and you’ll be amazed to find where it takes you.

These coincidences have been termed as “Synchronicity” or simply as “coming together of seemingly unrelated events”.

Carl Gustav Jung, the Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst said, “We talk about synchronicity when two or more seemingly ‘pure chance’ events coincide to form a connection that has a special meaning for the perceiver.  Heraclitus put it as, “The unseen design of things is more harmonious than the seen.”

Deepak Chopra calls ‘Synchro Destiny’ as the inherent Power of Meaningful Coincidence (present in everyone) to manifest ‘Abundance’ in one’s Life. ‘Abundance’ may include material wealth, emotional well-being, spiritual fulfillment, ability to fully experience love and compassion, and feel the joy and being able to spread it to others.

Synchronicity or meaningful coincidences can be explained by quantum physics.

Matter can be sequentially broken into atoms and then to subatomic particles (protons, electrons and neutrons), photons, quantum and wave. A photon is both a wave and a particle at the same time (wave particle duality). When two photons particles interact or become ‘entangled’ and then separate, they are connected at a speed much faster than the speed of light and act similar even when separated by huge distances. In this entangled state, the two photons (or quantum bits – qubits) share an existence or characteristics (quantum information measured as quantumbits ‘qubits’) and are interdependent. When one is altered in any way, the other too is altered even at a distance. Einstein called this connection as “spooky action at a distance” as according to him this was impossible. This phenomenon answers many of the mysteries of consciousness because at the level of photon, we are connected to everybody in the universe.

Synchrodestiny occurs when wave and wave meet or both the sender and receiver are in a parasympathetic state of mind. In such a situation, the receiver will catch the signals; the two are likely to get connected and have a dialogue. It is this connection, which we call coincidence.

To understand the genesis at Synchro-Destiny, one needs to know that that our lives are truly connected at every moment to the creative power of the universe (called ‘Brahman’ in Vedas). These connections require acquiring a state described in Vedic description as ‘Ritam bhara pragya’ [Ritam (rhythm), Bhara (full of), Pragya (mind), or in other words “a mind full of rhythm”]. It represents that state of mind where the thought waves are synchronous with the order of the universe and where the microcosm and macrocosm are in coherence with each other.

Consciousness or the ‘soul’ is the silent state of mind with full powers. These powers are hidden under the smoke of mind, intellect and ego which is controlled by the software of action, memory and desires. The interface between the two layers, the disturbed and the undisturbed state of consciousness, is what the “ritam bhara pragya” is. Once you cross into this state, the intentions becomes powerful and one start experiencing spontaneous fulfillment of desires.

In Vedas, this term is loosely translated as “a state where only truth is known”. It is said that if one can be conscious in this state, a desire can be manifested as it is right at the level of manifestation onto the physical plane. This is also the level where one experiences the Siddhis or super normal powers as described by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras.

Deepak Chopra in his latest book on this subject describes seven key principles for mastering Synchro-Destiny.

  • The existence of the conscious energy field: It indicates the presence of an underlying intelligence within and outside the body. The whole universe can be called as an extended part of our body. (Sri Ramanuja, the proponent of qualified dualism). When one lives one’s life with an appreciation of coincidences and their meanings, one has connected to the underlying field of infinite possibilities.
  • Creating cosmic connections: Creating Cosmic Connections means creating a human environment in which Synchro-Destiny can take place. In mastering Synchro-Destiny, the ability to create positive human relationships is much more than a tactic or a manipulative necessity, and is rather very fundamental to life, in the same way as ‘gravity’ or ‘having air to breathe’ is fundamental.
  • Mastering inner dialogue: Controlling the disturbed state of consciousness.
  • The art of penetrating the conspiracy of improbabilities: It means learning to recognize meaningful coincidences and to see them as opportunities rather than just little breaks in your daily routine (synchronistic moments).
  • Harnessing emotional turbulence: Once we understand that the universe really is our extended body, it becomes very clear that negative energy within ourselves is very self-destructive. Emotional Turbulence is a major barrier to the spontaneous fulfillment of desire. Transforming negative energy into a higher level of awareness is the fifth principle of mastering Synchro-Destiny.
  • Learning to use the infinite organizing power of intention: Understanding that beyond known forces like gravity or electromagnetism that control the universe, there is a strong internal thought force called ‘intention’.
  • Celebrating the Cosmic Dance: When you have mastered Synchro-Destiny, and have learned to synchronize your life with the universe itself, you are Celebrating the Cosmic Dance.

Once you follow these principles, the following transformations take place.

o    You see the world as an extension of your inner self, as part of the bigger biosphere.
o    Through relationships you learn about your non-local self (spiritual, soulful self) and the higher realm that connects us.
o    You become aware of when your thoughts are coming from the spirit and when they are coming from the ego.
o    You understand the power of intention and how it works.
o    You let go of the grievances and resentment which overshadow your spiritual self.
o    You value both the masculine and feminine aspects of your being.
o    You start appreciating the wonders of the universe and stay alert to coincidences.

Spiritual prescriptions - Formulas to Improve the Soul Profile

Sattchittaananda: The soul characteristics, (Absolute Existence -Absolute Knowledge)
Satt means ‘truth or knowingness’
Chitta means ‘conscious based’
Ananda means ‘bliss or inner happiness’

The soul in Vedic description is described as Sattchittaananda. People in touch with their soul speak the truth, take consciousness-based decisions and experience inner happiness.

The great rishis of India have described a formula of how to be in touch with your soul and get inner happiness. The formula is based on three questions to be asked to yourself before performing any action

1.         Is it the truth?
2.         Is it consciousness based?
3.         Will it give happiness?

If the answer to all three is ‘yes’, go ahead. In other words, if the answer to any of the three is “no”, do not perform that action.

Later on, many dharma groups modified this formula for their own use.

1.         Buddha’s Law of Action summarizes these questions as:
·        Is it the truth?
·        Is it necessary?
·        Will it bring happiness to me?
·        Will it bring happiness to others?

If the answer to any of the questions is, no, then do not do that action.

2.         Buddha’s Law of Speech summarizes the questions as:
·        Is it the truth?
·        Is it necessary?
·        Is it kind?

If the answer to any of the question is ‘no’, then do not speak.

3.    The Rotary four-way test comprises of:
·        Is it the truth?
·        Is it fair to all concerned?
·        Will it build goodwill and better friendship?
·        Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

If the answer to any of the answer is ‘no’, then do not perform that deed.

4. Formula of three H: Head, Heart and Hand:
Before doing any action ask your head for the choices. Then listen to the heart to give you the best consciousness-based advice and finally order the hand to do the action.

5. The formula Satyam Shivam Sundaram is based again on three questions: Is it the truth; is it God (consciousness-based); and is it going to build my inner beauty (happiness).

6. ‘May I help you?’ is another formula given in Srimad Bhagwat where once you agree to help, you end up with truth, tapa of hard work, purity of mind and daan or charity.

Spiritual prescriptions learnt from patients

In a hospital practice, we all see sufferings all the time. When we were young in medical college, we w quite often got disturbed seeing the sufferings of the people. During our career, we have learnt a lot of spiritual prescriptions from our patients. Not only do they help us heal our patients but have also changed our perception about health and sickness.

I recall Swami Bodhanand, a disciple of Swami Chinmayananda, was once admitted with us. When I asked him to give me a spiritual message, he told me only two words “Detached Attachment”. He said, “As a doctor you should behave like a lotus leaf. It is wet as long as a drop of water is there, but once the drop is out, the leaf is as dry as if the water was never there.” The message was that “we should be attached to our patients as long as they are with us. The day they die, we should be completely detached from them or else we will not be able to treat other patients”.

I saw another spiritual guru through our Chief Anesthetist. The fee he paid to me was a spiritual message “Suno Samjho Jano Karo- Hear Understand Wisdom and Doing”. He said that hearing is different from listening, listening is different from wisdom and wisdom is different from doing. Unless you hear, understand what you have heard and implement, learning has no value.

One of my Buddhist patients gave me a spiritual learning, which has helped me a lot in my routine clinical practice. He taught me the basic Buddhist message that there is suffering all over; there is a reason for every suffering and it is possible to maintain sufferings.  This message fits into the main message of Hinduism and also the main teaching from Garud Purana.

In Hinduism, we know that the very fact that we are born in this life means that in our last life, we could not get liberation as Hinduism believe that after liberation you are not reborn. Not getting liberated in the last birth means that some sufferings were left in our life. The basic purpose of this birth, therefore, is to face sufferings. When the basic purpose of our birth is to face sufferings, then why suffer from these sufferings. Every time we suffer, we should thank God that he has reduced one more. The period in between two sufferings is called a Happy period (Sukh). In fact, this period is nothing but a period of rest given to us by God to prepare our body for the next suffering. This as a concept of counseling helps my patients to manage most of their mental disturbances.

Sometimes not telling a patient that he is suffering from terminal cancer works. One of my patient’s father, aged 83 years, was found to have extensive cancer of the prostate. Medically, we all gave him three months’ to live. My patient had no guts to tell his father or the family members that he (the father) had extensive cancer. He took me into confidence and played a game with the family. We gathered all the family members and told them that with the surgery this cancer had been cured. A party was organized in the evening to celebrate the cure. The magic happened; he lived for the next 9 years almost a symptom free life. I have tried this on many of my patients thereafter and it works. The probable explanation was loss of fear of death, a confidence in his doctor and faith in his own self.

The way to live to 100 years is to go on working in life. My great grandfather-in-law was 75 years old when I got married. That year, he gathered all family members across the world and said that his purpose of life was over; he would like a collective family photograph and like to quit the world. Nothing happened for a year. On 20th July next year, he again acted in a similar manner. The whole family from across the world gathered but he remained alive for another year. This went on for three years. Suddenly, we played a spiritual trick on him and told everyone to convince him that he is going to live for 100 years as he has many more work of the family to be done. Every year, we used to give him law students from within the family to be taught (he was a lawyer himself), or give him the responsibility of finding a boy for some eligible girl in the family. We made him teach and search for a prospective bride or groom for years together and he actually died at the age of 100 years.

This is the beauty of a positive attitude in life.

Spiritual Prescriptions: Samudra Manthan - The Churning of the Ocean

Many of us know the story of ‘sagar manthan’ or the churning of the ocean. The story goes like this.

Once Indra lost his kingdom due to the disrespect he showed to sage Durvasa. He approached Lord Vishnu who advised him to seek the help of the demons to churn the ocean of milk (ksheer sagar), so that he and the devas could partake the amrita (ambrosia) which would make them immortal and help them regain their lost kingdom.

As per his advice, the devas approached the demons, and they all agreed in the end to churn the ocean of milk. They sought the help of mount ‘Mandhara’ and the great snake ‘Vasuki’ for this purpose. Vasuki, the snake god, was used as the rope and Mandhara, the mountain, as the churning stick to churn the ocean. While they were churning the great ocean, Lord Vishnu assumed the form of a tortoise and held the Mandhara from sinking. While the churning was going on, several wonderful objects came out of the ocean.

The first to come out was ‘halahal’, the deadly poison, which threatened to engulf the world and destroy it. When no one was willing to accept the poison, Lord Shiva came forward to accept it. He swallowed it and Parvathi who was standing beside him, pressed his neck as he swallowed it and thus, prevented it from going into his stomach. Thus the poison remained struck there forever in his neck, neither going up into his mind nor going down into his stomach.

Then came Kamadhenu (the wish-fulfilling cow), the Ucchaisrava (the white horse), Airavata (the white elephant), Kaustubhamani (a rare diamond), Kalpavriksha (the wish-fulfilling tree), Lakshmi (the goddess of wealth), Sura or Varuni (the goddess of wine), and finally Dhanvantari (the divine physician) with the vessel of Amrita in his skilful hands. These objects, except the last one, were divided between the devas and the demons.

The nectar of immortality was, of course, finally denied to the demons and was distributed among the devas only, through a fine piece of trickery enacted by Lord Vishnu. He assumed the form of Mohini to delude the demons and make them temporarily forget all about the ‘amrit’, while he went on distributing it among the gods who took it. Because of the effects of ‘amrit’, they not only became immortal but also defeated the demons summarily. But two of the Daityas (demons) managed to partake of the Amrit. And they both became immortal. Therefore, the strife between good and evil continues to this day.

Spiritual Symbolism

The story represents the spiritual endeavor of man for achieving  immortality and inner happiness through concentration of mind, withdrawal of senses, control of desires and practice of austerities and asceticism.

1.  The devas represent the pleasure principle in us. They also represent the senses.

2. The demons represent the pain principle and the negative thoughts and impulses.

3.  Indra represents the Intellect, which can become egoistic.

4. Ksheer Sagar or the ocean of milk is the mind or the human consciousness. The mind is always compared to an ocean (mano sagaram) while the thoughts and emotions to the waves.

5. Mandhara, the mountain stands for concentration. The word “mandhara” contains two words “man” (mind) and “dhara” (a single line) which means ‘holding the mind in one line’. This is possible only during mental concentration. The mountain Mandhara was upheld by Lord Vishnu as a tortoise.

6. The tortoise stands for the withdrawal of the senses into oneself as one practices mental concentration and meditation or contemplation. It also suggests that the mind should rest upon itself or freely surrender itself to the divine will.

7.  The participation of both the devas and the demons signify the fact that when one is seeking immortality through the spiritual practice, one has to integrate and harmonize both the positive and negative aspects of one’s personality and put both the energies for the common goal.

8.  The great serpent Vasuki stands for desire. The desire is always compared to a thousand hooded serpent.

9.  Halahal represents the turmoil of mind one suffers in the initial phase of meditation

10. The celestial gems represent the spiritual powers or the sidhis one can attain during meditation

11. ‘Amrit’ or nectar represents the inner happiness

12.  Immortality represents moksha

The another interpretation of the story is:

The story represents the need for doing meditation (churning of the mind in the ocean) to gain control over ego, which takes over when the mind and intellect (Indra) lose their track.

The process involves intention to do the meditation (devas approach the Vishnu (consciousness and in turn advised to do the manthan) and attention (focus, concentration) on the object of concentration (God or consciousness and here the tortoise). The process involves concentrating on a mantra or the breath continuously and giving preferences to the object of concentration over the thoughts. Meditation is incomplete without withdrawing the senses (tortoise). By yoga sutras of patanjali it is called ‘pratihara’ by creating a spiritual atmosphere. The contemplation or the continuing concentration is a must (mandhara).

Meditation is the process of slipping in the silent gaps between the thoughts. Negative thoughts are the asuras, the devils or the demons. Meditation involves bypassing the thought and needs both the positive and the negative thoughts to cooperate with each other like in a rope.

While meditating, one is bound to be affected by a chain or rope of desires (vasuki). The same needs to be tightened up, caught firmly by the thoughts, and ignored by giving preference to the object of concentration, the self (the tortoise). When in difficulty, every one has to take the help of God.

To summarize, the Vasuki used in the churning of the ocean denotes that the devas and the demons held desire (to seek immortality) as a rope and churned the mind with the help of concentration and withdrawal of the senses. You can hold the desire in your hands and manipulate it only when you have control over your desires.

In the initial phase of meditation or intense churning by opposite forces, one is affected by turmoil of the mind. Most people who start meditation leave it in this phase only, as they cannot bear this turmoil and get agitated or disturbed. That is one reason it is said that one should learn meditation under the guidance of a teacher, doctor or a guru.

The halahal represents this suffering and pain one undergoes at the beginning of spiritual sadhana. The problems get intensified because of inner conflicts, when one part yearns to pursue the spiritual path (devas) while the other opposes it (demons). In short, ‘halahal’ is the instability of the body and the mind that arises as a counter-reaction against one’s spiritual practice.

One can compare this to the release of the mental toxins comparable to the physical toxins which gets released when we rest and after a daylong rest complain of leg pains.

The mental turmoil representing all kinds of reactions, negative thoughts, desires and impulses associated with some degree of physical turmoil (body movements, flickering and tingling) need to be tackled here to complete the process of meditation.

One cannot take out these negative thoughts in the open nor can one keep it in (you can not throw the halahal out or swallow it). It needs to be managed or ignored by keeping it in the throat which is what was done by Shiva. Shiva here represents the ascetic principle (leading a life of self-discipline and self-denial).

It also means that another mode of controlling the turmoil is by controlling the breath. Shiva is the controller of breath and is called a ‘prananath, or praneshwar’ - The Lord of Breath. In meditation, it is essential that one gains complete mastery over one’s breathing pattern. Most sages hold their breath in their throat, near the palate, as they meditate to control this turmoil of mind.

The various objects that came out of the ocean during the churning stand for the psychic or spiritual powers (siddhis) which one gains as one progresses spiritually from stage to stage.

These siddhis are spiritual powers, which come to a seeker as he progresses on the spiritual path. We are told that a seeker should be careful about these powers as they can hamper his progress unless he uses them judiciously - not for his selfish gains but for others’ welfare. This is the reason why the gods and demons distributed these powers among others without keeping anything for themselves as they did not want to lose sight of their original aim, which was to gain immortality (inner happiness).

After the ‘halahal’, came Kamadhenu (the wish-fulfilling cow), the Ucchaisrava (the white horse, as white as the moon), Airavata (the white elephant), Kaustubha mani ( a rare diamond, type of ruby), Kalpavriksha or the Kalpataru (the wish-fulfilling tree, called Parijata), Rambha Apsara the (celestial dancer), Lakshmi (the goddess of wealth), Sura or Varuni, the Somarasa (the goddess of wine), Sankha (the conch), Sankra Dhanush (the weapon), and finally Dhanvantari (the divine physician) with the vessel of Amrita in his skillful hands.

Dhanvantari stands for health. The vessel containing the amrit was brought before the gods and the demons by Dhanvantari, the divine physician. This signifies that immortality can be achieved only when the body and the mind are in a perfect state of health.

These spiritual powers are the ones which one can attain while doing basic and advanced meditation and includes the capacity to fullfill desires, to give boons to others, to acquire health, wealth etc. Meditation is not possible in case of a person who is mentally or physically sick or whose gross body is not fit for receiving meditation benefits.

Lord Vishnu in the form of Mohini stands for ‘delusion of the mind’ in the form of pride. It is the pride of achievement to which the asuras or the demons succumbed and thus, lost their right to enter into the world of immortality. Pride and egoism are the final hurdles one has to overcome in spiritual life before being able to experience self-realization.

Spiritual Prescriptions: Satsang

Satsang is a common household word and is often held many residential colonies. Traditionally, Satsang meant the regular meeting of a group of elderly or women of an area with a common intention of attaining inner happiness or peace through Bhajans or devotional songs for a particular God or Gods.  In Satsang, people realize that it is the Self, communing with Self.

The Sanskrit word ‘Satsang’ literally means gathering together for guidance, mutual support or in search of truth. It may involve talking together, eating together, working together, listening together or praying together.

Most scriptures describe Sat and asat. They discriminate that this world is maya (asat) and God is Divine. Furthermore, they state that maya is not yours; Divine is yours.

Sang means to join, not just coming close, but to join. And how do you join? Only with love, which acts as glue. So Satsang is:  Sat—Divine. Sang—loving association. In non-traditional Satsang, people verbally express themselves to others in an uninhibited way. Here, each participant talks free of judgment of others, and self. In this way, each person is able to see many viewpoints, which may serve to diminish the rigidity of their own.

Satsang is one way of acquiring spiritual well being. Many scientific studies have shown that when mediation or chanting is done in groups it has more benefits than when done individually. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi once said that if 1% of the population meditates or chants together it will have a positive influence on the entire society.

Satsang also helps in creating a network of people with different unique talents. Satsangi groups are often considered in a very deep-rooted friendship.

Adi Shankaracharya in his book Bhaja Govindam also talks about satsang in combination with sewa and simran and says that together the three can make one acquire spiritual well- being. Nirankaris and Sikhs also give importance to satsang and in fact every true Sikh is supposed to participate in the Gurudwara on a regular basis.

Chanting of mantra or listening to discourses in a satsang helps to understand spirituality through gyan marga. Group chanting continued on a regular basis is one of the ways of meditation mentioned in the shastras. It shifts consciousness from sympathetic to the parasympathetic mode.

The medical educational programs of doctors of today can be called medical satsangs as whatever is discussed is for the welfare of the society. However terrorism meetings held to discuss implanting a blast couldn’t be called a satsang.

Satsang also inculcates in us, one of the laws of Ganesha, the law of big ears, which teaches everyone to have the patience to listen to the others.

In satsang, nobody is small or big, everybody has a right to discuss or give his or her views. Over a period of time, most people who regularly attend satsang, start working from the level of their spirit and not the ego.

Spiritual Prescriptions: Meaningful Coincidences - Synchronicity

If you bump into someone you haven’t met for a long time, then it is advisable to stop and talk to him or her. Remain aware of a message from the universe that they might be carrying for you. Follow the coincidence through, and you’ll be amazed to find where it takes you.

Time and again, we all experience coincidences that has some special meaning or significance, and that appears to defy the laws of probability. Most of us tend to ignore them as something amusing or insignificant.

Today scientists define these coincidences as “Synchronicity.” In laymen terms, they mean ‘coming together of seemingly unrelated events.’

Synchro-Destiny is more than a coincidence as it contains a purpose or a meaning, has a direction and a force of intention. All these come from within us, and each one of us has the power to activate these.

‘Synchro-Destiny’ as a phenomenon is not uncommon and is highly significant. Every meaningful coincidence has a force and direction, and it requires understanding and participating in the process of meaningful coincidence. It requires lending our attention and intention in order to bring the process to fruition. When this happens, there occurs a spontaneous fulfillment of desire in the field of infinite possibilities. It is not about waving a magic wand to gratify ego-based desires. It is about something very different - it’s actually the fulfillment of intentions that exist at much deeper levels, and of desires that are based in spirit rather than ego.

1.     The existence of the Conscious Energy Field: It indicates the presence of an underlying intelligence within and outside the body. The whole universe can be called as an extended part of our body. (Sri Ramanuja, the proponent of qualified dualism). When one lives one’s life with an appreciation of coincidences and their meanings, one has connected to the underlying field of infinite possibilities.

2.     Creating Cosmic Connections: Creating Cosmic Connections means creating a human environment in which Synchro-Destiny can take place. In mastering Synchro-Destiny, the ability to create positive human relationships is much more than a tactic or a manipulative necessity, and is rather very fundamental to life, in the same way as ‘gravity’ or ‘having air to breathe’ is fundamental.

3.     Mastering Inner Dialogue: Controlling the disturbed state of consciousness.

4.     The art of Penetrating the Conspiracy of Improbabilities: It means learning to recognize meaningful coincidences and to see them as opportunities rather than just little breaks in your daily routine (synchronistic moments).

5.     Harnessing Emotional Turbulence: Once we understand that the universe really is our extended body, it becomes very clear that negative energy within ourselves is very self-destructive. Emotional Turbulence is a major barrier to the spontaneous fulfillment of desire. Transforming negative energy into a higher level of awareness is the fifth principle of mastering Synchro-Destiny.

6.     Learning to use the Infinite Organizing Power of Intention: Understanding that beyond known forces like gravity or electromagnetism that control the universe, there is a strong internal thought force called ‘intention’.

7.     Celebrating the Cosmic Dance: When you have mastered Synchro-Destiny, and have learned to synchronize your life with the universe itself, you are Celebrating the Cosmic Dance.

SynchroDestiny can be learnt as a procedure that involves gaining access to a place deep within us (restful alert state of consciousness during meditation), willfully recognizing and noticing the coincidences in the daily routine and looking for the message behind them; and using the power of intention to take advantage of them.

It can be learnt in stages:

·        Stage 1: Start seeing coincidences while they are happening in daily routine.

·        Stage 2: Develop an awareness of coincidences while they are happening and take advantage of the opportunities they may be presenting. Awareness translates into energy hence the more attention you give to coincidences, the more is the likelihood for them to happen.

·        Final stage: Become fully aware of the interrelatedness of all things, how each affects the next, and how they all are ‘in sync’ with one another. ‘In sync’ is a colloquial way of saying ‘in synchrony’, which means operating in unison, as ‘one’. This synchrony is choreographed by a great, all pervasive higher intelligence that lies at the heart of nature (Universe), and is manifest in each of us through what we call the ‘soul’. By applying attention and force of intention to these coincidences, we can create specific position outcomes in our lives.

Quotes

“Synchronicity can be defined as a non-causal but meaningful relationship between events or states of mind within the human psyche and events in the outside world. Putting it more simply, we can call synchronicity as the experiences of “meaningful coincidence”. We have all had experiences that we intuitively recognize as meaningful, though we would be hard pressed to explain them in rational terms. In fact, these “meaningful coincidences” are not coincidences at all but spontaneous realizations of the underlying interconnectedness of all things within the Universe.” (Laurence Boldt - Tao of Abundance)

1.     Acausal (karmically connected) Atemporal Non-Local Quantum Mechanics Interrelatedness: (Deepak Chopra)

2.     As Heraclitus put it, “The unseen design of things is more harmonious than the seen.”

3.     James Redfield, in the ‘Celestine Prophecy’, describes the first insight as about following meaningful coincidences. Coincidences, if followed through, are seen as a way of evolving to a higher level of vibration consciousness. When we are in the flow, we experience more synchronous events and hence more pleasure and less pain. The flow of coincidences is our path to higher grounds of evolution.

4.     The Law of Synchronization or the Harmonics of the Universe: It is taught in metaphysics, according to ancient writings....also according to modern mystics, including the respected Carl Jung that everything in this Universe, at any given moment at time is synchronized to everything else all working together, interlocked and interdependent and all related. The inseparable astrology itself is a pure demonstration of this Law.

5.     C G Jung: “We talk about synchronicity when two or more seemingly ‘pure chance’ events coincide to form a connection that has a special meaning for the perceiver.
