HGB <13.5 g/dL or a HCT <41.0 percent represents anemia in men and HGB <12.0 g/dL or <36.0 percent, represents anemia in women. AS per WHO anemia in men is Hb less than <13 and in women is Hb <12 g/dL. The revised WHO/National Cancer Institute's criteria for anemia in men and women are <14 and <12 g/dL, respectively.
