Patients with low gradient aortic stenosis (narrowed aortic valve) with preserved left heart pumping function (ejection fraction) and concentric left heart (ventricular) hypertrophy have a poor prognosis.
A new study also has shown that patients with low gradient aortic stenosis without concentric hypertrophy have outcomes similar to patients with moderate aortic stenosis.
