Emedinews: Dr. KK’s tip of knowing cholesterol level content in a food item
Any food of plant in origin contains ‘zero’ cholesterol. Only animal food contains cholesterol.
Emedinews: Dr. KK’s formula of 80
To live up to the age of 80 without heart attack, one should adapt to Dr. KK’s formula of 80 i.e. to keep lower blood pressure, fasting sugar, abdominal circumference, pulse-rate and bad cholesterol level all below 80.
For that, one should walk 80 minutes a day wherever possible a day at a speed of 80 steps in a minute. Do 80 cycles of pranayama in a day. Eat less, not more than 80 gm of caloric food or 80 ml of caloric drink at a time. Avoid alcohol or drink less than 80 ml per day or 80 gm per week. Do 80 laughter exercises in a day. Clap 80 times in a day. Finally, not to smoke as it may end up into Rs. 80000 hospitalization bill.

Before labeling yourself lactose tolerant, first try the following – Boil the mil three times and then drink the milk. If you still can’t tolerate, try boiling it three times with ginger. If you still fail, get yourself investigated.

As per Ayurveda text, foods which are pungent, soar, and salty in taste will produce acidity. Eating fermented food after sunset specially mixed with non-fermented food will also cause acidity.

As per Ayurveda Texts, any food grown under the ground and eaten raw will produce gas in the body.
Also any food which can split into two equal parts, if eaten raw will produce gas in the body. Examples are almonds, walnuts, pulses, legumes, rajma etc. They should be soaked in water for few hours before cooking them or boil them before eating.

Any attack of asthma appearing for the first time after the age of 40 should be evaluated first for cardiac asthma unless proved otherwise.

Any acidity appearing for the first time in life after the age of 40 should have a cardiac cause ruled out.
Dr KK Answers: Dr. KK’s tip of heart failure
Any patient with acute left heart failure presenting as pulmonary edema, check the blood pressure if the blood pressure is normal or high unless proved otherwise, it is a case of diastolic heart failure (abnormality of the relaxation function of the heart) and carries good prognosis. If the blood pressure is low, it indicates low systolic or pumping function of heart and carries bad prognosis.

Any pain in the chest which can be pinpointed by a finger or lasts less than 30 seconds is not a heart angina pain.

Just feel the hands and if they are warm, it means it is a shock with vasodilatation. The differential diagnosis is sepsis or anaphylaxis. If the hands are cold, it means vasoconstriction. Differential diagnosis is hypovolemia, pulmonary embolism or acute heart attack.

Dr. KK’s formula of ten is used in "only chest compression cardiac pulmonary resuscitation". Within 10 minutes of sudden cardiac death for the next 10 minutes one should do the chest compression with a speed of 10X10=100 per minute to save the life of the person. In Hindi, it can be remembered as “10 minute ke ander, das minute tak apni chhati peetne ke badle ulki chhati peeto”.

Dr. KK’s formula of two in Asthma can differentiate Intermittent Asthma from Persistent Asthma. Intermittent Asthma does not require continuous treatment.
If a patient has more than two night attacks of asthma in a month or more than two day attacks of asthma in a week or uses more than two canisters of asthma inhalers in a year, he or she is suffering from Persistent Asthma and requires continuous use of inhalers.
