Soul is the biggest pharmacy in the world – Dr KK Aggarwal

On the occasion of World Mental Health Day in a function organized by Delhi Medical Association, Padma Shri and Dr. B.C. Roy National Awardee, Dr KK Aggarwal, President Heart Care Foundation of India said that the very fact that our body has a receptor for each and every drug means the human body is the biggest pharmacy in the World and has the capacity to produce each and every drug.  Obviously God never created these receptors for Pharma Company to invent drug molecule.

Dr Aggarwal said that in the forthcoming 20th MTNL Perfect Health Mela being organized from 23rd to 27th October, 2013 at Constitution Club of India will have special classes and counseling sessions on mental health.

Dr Aggarwal said that the spiritual medicine should be part and parcel of MBBS curricular and it involves teaching on how to shift from sympathetic to para sympathetic state of mind. Sympathetic state of mind leads to diseases and para sympathetic state to a healing mode. Most of the mind, body and spiritual techniques are based on this principal.

Dr Aggarwal said that beta blockers are one drug which are known to reduce cardiac mortality and again shifts one to para sympathetic mode artificially.  Talking about Yoga, Dr Aggarwal said that it is a natural beta blocker.

One should have a dialogue with ones soul everyday.  The same can be done by meditation or by adapting to slower and deeper breathing with a rate of 4 to 5 per minute for the next 20 minutes.
The simplest spiritual prescription is to chant OM or AUM which medically produces a pain killer and tranquilizer at the same time.

Dr Aggarwal said that stress is the reaction of the body and the mind to the interpretation of a known situation.  Spiritual counseling, therefore, involves changing interpretation.

Profession, passion and fashion

I have written about it earlier but this is an update. Profession is at the level of physical body and mind, fashion is at the level of ego and the passion is at the level of soul. If your passion, profession and fashion are in synchrony with each other, you are a perfect leader.

If you are not passionate about your profession, you can never be successful. Only this is not important that you are passionate about your profession but it is also equally important to let others know about your passion about your profession.

When you do so, it becomes a fashion. Our aim in life should be to let people know that you are passionate about your profession.

When the passion is too much it becomes an obsession.

Emedinews :Soul does not leave the body immediately after the death

According to Prashna Upanishad, at the time of death, the Prana Vayu (respiration) merges with Udana Vayu (brain stem reflexes) and leaves the body. But this does not happen immediately after clinical death which is defined as stoppage of heart and respiration. Medically the term used for clinically dead patients is cardiac arrest.

As per the modern medicine, in cardiac arrest, the brain does not die for the next ten minutes and during this period, if the heart can be revived, life can be brought back.

The revival of patient during this period can be remembered by the formula of ten which is that within ten minutes of the stoppage of heart (cardiac arrest), if effective chest compression are given for the next ten minutes with a speed of 100 per minutes (10X10), 80% of the cardiac arrest victims can be revived.

This period can be much longer in hypothermia state. If the temperature of the body is low, the soul does not leave the body till the temperature is brought back to normal. Today, this property of soul is also used as therapeutic measure where patients who cannot be revived in the first ten minutes of clinical death are put in a freezing chamber and artificial hypothermia is produced and these patients can then be transported to an advance cardiac centre where even after 24 hours resuscitation measure can be applied after re-warming the body. Many people have been revived even after 24 hours of cardiac arrest with such a technology.

There are instances in literature where a newborn with hypothermia was declared dead and got revived in the cremation ground when the heat of the atmosphere brought his temperature to normal and the pressure of the wood worked like cardiac massage.

This aspect of “life after death” is a contribution of the modern science to the Vedic science. Though in Vedic literature, it was well known phenomenon as Savitri brought life back into Satyavan even after his clinical death.

Take home message is that one should not declare a patient dead in the first ten minutes if cardiac massage and try reviving him with chest compression cardio pulmonary resuscitation.
