Apples Reduce Oxidized LDL

Apples Reduce Oxidized LDL

Apples are mentioned in mythology and are offered to GOD. Any fruit which is offered to GOD is considered good for the spirit.
A group of 16 healthy volunteers who ate an apple a day for 4 weeks had a 40% reduction in oxidized LDL compared with 18 people who took two placebo capsules per day supposedly containing apple polyphenol extract, reported Robert A. DiSilvestro, PhD, and colleagues from Ohio State University in Columbus.
A third group of 17 volunteers who consumed two capsules of apple polyphenol extract per day for 4 weeks registered a measurable effect regarding oxidized LDL, but not as strong as the effect among those who ate actual apples, according to the study, which was published online in the Journal of Nutritional Foods.
